Hello, sorry for being away for few days (was @ the garage

). I have to tell You one thing: behind the nick "mariano-italiano" there are few friends that have and love Opels - with the mission to save even unsaveable Rekord/Commos

Mariano is the man that does the magic (seen on photos), "italiano" has been added just for rhyme

We are all from Poland, no connections with Italy that we know of
The car has been bought totally decompleted with plenty of parts missing

There was no rear axle, but the engine 2.5 (without carburetor(s)

) with automatic transmission was still there. Surprise: taking all parts off the car, the person didn't cut off chassis numbers

They are all there and readable. Engine and transmission numbers are also there and readable (accessible via PM)

There is no doubt that the car is the one that can be seen on photos under the link (
http://www.steinmetz-opel.de/). On the site there are current photos of a car with flared fenders (so we can assume why it was cutted off

).
There is clearly something wrong, because on photos of Commodore (that I currently own) and on photos of car currently presented on above website - plate numbers seem quite similar

One thing that comes to my mind is that documents from my Commodore have been used in other car. Current owner of steinmetz-opel car should check his VIN numbers if it's all ok.
Interesting thing: I have wheels that can be seen on photos from before the accident - it was in the wreck that I bought
Many of You can guess - how could You register such car (without documents) in Poland? You can do this fully legal if the car has > 25yrs (and has readable VIN numbers

) - the car can get its new identity as Historical car
Best Regards,
